Glenleigh Park Primary Academy is seeking a dynamic Year 6 Teacher (0.6 FTE, permanent) to join our supportive team. The role focuses on preparing pupils for secondary school with high-quality teaching that inspires, motivates and challenges learners.

We require Qualified Teacher Status, experience in Key Stage 2 (preferably Upper KS2), and a commitment to raising achievement. The school values Growth, Perseverance, Positivity and Achievement, and offers extensive CPD, a well-resourced learning

Your Role

Glenleigh Park Primary Academy is looking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic Teacher (Year 6) on a permanent basis to continue inspiring young minds. This is a part‑time role (0.6 FTE), offering an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated and supportive team. This role is unsuitable for ECTs.

As our Year 6 Teacher, you will play a vital role in preparing pupils for secondary school, delivering high-quality teaching that inspires, motivates and challenges learners to achieve their very best.

Recent teaching experience

Sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and National Primary Curriculum

An understanding that safeguarding children is central to the role and can spot signs of abuse/neglect in children

Ability to report on pupil progress (observations, assessments, parental reports)

Recent primary teaching experience - either EYFS, KS1, or KS2

Experience working with outside agencies to support children's progress/well‑being

Experience of supporting children with limited verbal communication

An understanding of the pedagogy of early reading and phonics, particularly Read, Write Inc.

To have knowledge and a keen interest in leading a curriculum area

Knowledge of reporting behaviour/safeguarding concerns on an electronic platform

Leadership

Ability to work effectively as part of the school team and with governors, trustees, pupils, guardians/carers, stakeholders and partners within, and beyond, the education sector
