Job summary

Learn Academies Trust in Market Harborough is seeking a part-time teacher for a fixed-term maternity cover (0.8 FTE). The role runs for 52 weeks with Monday to Thursday pattern and a salary of £31,916 to £45,352 (FTE).

Experience in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is essential. You will deliver a broad, balanced curriculum, monitor pupil progress, plan lessons, and contribute to school development while safeguarding pupils at all times.

Qualifications

  • QTS in the UK (or equivalent certification).
  • Enhanced DBS check for safeguarding children.
  • Evidence of further professional development.

Responsibilities

  • To implement and deliver a broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for pupils and support a designated curriculum area.
  • To monitor and support the overall progress and development of pupils as a teacher.
  • To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which enables pupils to reach their potential.
  • To contribute to raising standards of pupil attainment.
  • To support planning and whole school development and timetabling.
  • To plan and prepare lessons and contribute to school planning activities.
  • To promote safeguarding of pupils and act in loco parentis.

Part time, fixed term for the duration of a maternity leave.

M1 to M6, 0.8 FTE , 52 weeks a year.

Salary: £31,916 to 45,352 (FTE)

Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday

Previous experience working within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is essential for this role.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for pupils and to support a designated curriculum area as appropriate.
  • To monitor and support the overall progress and development of pupils as a teacher.
  • To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides pupils with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
  • To contribute to raising standards of pupil attainment.
  • To share and support the schools' responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal growth and enjoyment.
  • To assist in the development of appropriate syllabuses, resources, schemes of work, marking policies and teaching strategies in the Curriculum Area and Department.
  • To contribute to the achievement of the school’s development plan and its implementation.
  • To plan and prepare lessons.
  • To contribute to the whole school’s planning activities.
  • Consider promoting and safeguarding pupils’ welfare as paramount, and action in accordance with the responsibility ‘in loco parentis’.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK (or equivalent certification in other countries). (E)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed) or equivalent teaching qualification. Alternatively, a degree in a relevant subject plus a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). (E)
  • Enhanced DBS check (in the UK) for safeguarding children. (E)
  • Evidence of participation in further professional development or study (D)
  • Basic first aid training (D)
