Job summary

Outcomes First Group is seeking a dedicated Teacher for Hazel Cottage School in Fazakerley, Liverpool. You will teach creatively, focusing on autistic pupils aged 4–11, tailoring learning to individual strengths and needs, and collaborating with care staff to create a nurturing environment.

You will join a supportive team under a permanent term-time contract with a 37.5-hour week, starting January 2027. Salary is £39,000 per year, with UK applicants only and no sponsorship available.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent required for teaching role.
• Strong understanding of additional needs including autism and learning difficulties.
• Ability to plan engaging learning and adapt teaching to individual pupils.
• Calm, compassionate and resilient approach.
• Confidence to support pupils with challenging behaviour.
• Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
• Excellent communication and collaborative working with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative, personalised learning for individuals and small groups.
• Adapt teaching to different abilities, learning styles, and needs.
• Monitor and assess progress and shape next steps for each pupil.
• Develop and review Individual Education Plans and behaviour plans.
• Create a safe, structured, stimulating learning environment.
• Support pupils to develop academically, socially, emotionally and personally.
• Encourage positive behaviour, independence and self-regulation.
• Coordinate teaching, assessment and reporting across subjects and key stages.
• Work with colleagues and care staff to provide consistent support.
• Contribute to school development and professional practice.
