Job summary

Jubilee High School, part of Bourne Education Trust in Surrey, invites applications for a PE Teacher position (Mat cover). The role is full-time and temporary with ASAP start. Salary aligns with the Teachers’ Main - Upper Pay Scale (Fringe – Surrey) within the listed band.

You will deliver the PE curriculum, support pupil progress and manage SEN needs where applicable, contributing to high standards of achievement and well-being. QTS is required and safeguarding experience is expected.

• Ability to safeguard children.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the PE curriculum appropriate to the age and ability of the pupils, preparing teaching materials and pastoral arrangements as appropriate.
• Be accountable for attainment, progress and outcomes of all pupils in your class, planning to enable them to reach their potential.
• Consider SEN needs and, where appropriate, lead SEN Support arrangements.

Education

Salary: Teachers’ Main - Upper Pay Scale (Fringe - Surrey £34,398 to £52,490)

Key Responsibilities Include

• Delivering the curriculum as relevant to the age and ability of the individuals and classes you teach, preparing and developing teaching materials, programmes and pastoral arrangements as appropriate.
• Be accountable for the attainment, progress and outcomes of all pupils within your class/es, planning effectively to ensure that pupils have the opportunity to meet their potential.
• Being aware of pupils’ capabilities, planning effectively to meet the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and where appropriate, lead the preparation, implementation, monitoring and review of SEN Support Arrangements.

Essential Requirements include

• Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent
• Ability to demonstrate an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children
• Ability to evidence effective continuous professional development
