PE Teacher Position at a Secondary School in Macclesfield

A dedicated and passionate PE Teacher is required to work at a popular secondary school in Macclesfield. The role is full-time, starting from September 2024, and is likely to be for the entire academic year.

This position is five days a week, full-time, and open to both ECTs and experienced teachers.

You will be expected to become fully involved within the department and school, attending departmental meetings, being available for parents’ evenings, and planning and delivering engaging lessons that challenge students academically. The school teaches GCSEs with a focus on building knowledge throughout KS3 and KS4. You will also mark work and provide feedback in conjunction with Assessment for Learning (AfL).

The school provides a safe and welcoming environment where students feel proud and enthusiastic about their education. High standards of behaviour are maintained, with students punctual and eager to learn. Opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities such as sports, drama clubs, and the Duke of Edinburgh Award are also available.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree educated with a good classification
• Secondary QTS (PGCE, SCITT, QTS, etc.)
• Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference)
• Experience of teaching in a Secondary School (which we can reference)
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued within the last year (training can be provided)
• Up-to-date Prevent awareness training issued within the last 3 years (training can be provided)
• Up-to-date behaviour management & FGM training (training can be provided)

• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application at a cost of £[amount]
