Job description

Trinity Multi Academy Trust is proud to have transformed the life chances of thousands of pupils across its existing academies, and our core values of Empathy, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility run through all aspects of academy life. Our secondary schools consistently achieve academic results which place them in the top 10% of highest performing schools in the country and receive national and international recognition for the quality of their provision.

As a Trust we were excited to have been chosen by the Department for Education as their approved sponsor to open a new secondary school to support the increasing population of Barnsley. In September 2021 Trinity Academy St Edward’s opened its doors to a founding cohort of Year 7 students from across the town.

We are seeking a Maths Teacher to join our expanding team and become a key player in the development and success of Trinity Academy St Edward’s. The role of teacher of maths is such an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fantastic team as it continues to deliver an exceptional curriculum. The successful candidate will work closely with the Curriculum Leader and all other colleagues to ensure that the curriculum offered at Key Stage 3 remains strong and will assist in the planning and delivery of our curriculum at Key Stage 4. The successful candidate will deliver lessons at both Key Stage 3 and 4. Our maths department delivers a mastery curriculum and benefit from free resources from our Trust’s subsidiary company, White Rose Education, to ensure our children get an outstanding educational offer. Maths plays a pivotal role in our STEM offer, and you will be joining a team that is solely focused on the promotion and championing of maths across the school.

You will be able to access our bookletised curriculum and contribute to its development across three schools in our Trust and we will offer you effective and personalised CPD to enhance your pedagogical knowledge. Alongside all of this, you will become part of a strong, supportive staff body that benefits from teaching in a disruption-free environment in brand new facilities.

We are looking for an outstanding colleague with an unrelenting drive to improve the life chances of our children. You will have a secure subject knowledge and demonstrate a clear passion and enthusiasm for your subject. Inclusion is at the heart of all we do at Trinity Academy St Edward’s and as an outstanding classroom practitioner you will champion all of our children and use your skills, experience and craft to alleviate any barriers to learning.

What we can offer:
  • Full support from a dedicated team of senior leaders from around the Trust.
  • A first class Behaviour for Learning system.
  • Excellent teaching resources.
  • Career progression and cross-trust working.
  • An excellent CPD package for all staff, including a further comprehensive programme of professional development provided through the Trinity Institute of Education and West Yorkshire Maths Hub.
  • A range of staff benefits, including free counselling service, Cycle to Work Scheme and reduced-cost health cover.

Trinity Academy St Edward’s and Trinity Multi-Academy Trust will invest in you as a person and as a professional. We are committed to offering the best professional development opportunities and will look to support and invest in leadership development in our staff. We hold high regard to the wellbeing of our staff and will introduce and implement many exciting ways to support this. As a member of staff at Trinity Academy St Edward’s you will love your daily work and your time spent working with us because of the value we will place not only in your work, but in you as an individual and professional.
