Overview

The Vacancy
The role is for a Teacher of Mathematics at Whitgift. This is a Full-time, Two Term Position with a start date of January 2026. Salary is a generous package dependent on qualifications and experience. Whitgift is one of Britain's leading independent day and boarding schools, located on a 48-acre parkland site in South Croydon with strong links to London, Surrey and the south coast.

  • Join a dynamic, friendly and highly successful Mathematics department on a full-time, two-term basis, with the possibility of a permanent position depending on departmental needs.
  • Support and contribute to a culture of collaborative learning to maintain high standards.
  • Motivate and enthuse young learners to achieve their best through effective planning and preparation.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver lessons with strong classroom management and problem-solving skills.
  • Contribute to the co-curricular life of the School and support the pastoral system.

  • Talent for motivating and engaging students; excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience as a teacher is welcome, including those new to the profession, with potential involvement in our Initial Teacher Training programme.
