Job description

About the Role:

This full-time History Teacher role is based in a thriving secondary school in the Buttershaw area of Bradford. You will be teaching across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering a challenging and knowledge-rich curriculum based on the AQA specification. You'll work within a forward-thinking Humanities Faculty, supported by a dedicated Subject Lead for History and a collaborative team who share a deep commitment to excellence in the humanities.

Essential Requirements

  • QTS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Strong knowledge of the AQA GCSE specification is highly desirable
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

  • Provide written and verbal feedback that helps students improve
  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners
  • Monitor student progress and intervene when needed
  • Promote a love of History and academic curiosity
  • Organise or support educational visits and historical workshops
  • Support literacy development through extended texts and historical vocabulary
  • Promote diversity through inclusive representation in curriculum materials
