Accelerate Teaching is excited to partner with a dynamic and forward-thinking Secondary School in Leeds as we seek a passionate Teacher of Food Technology to join their team from September 2024. This is a unique opportunity to inspire the next generation of culinary enthusiasts and equip students with essential life skills.

As a Teacher of Food Technology, you will be at the forefront of delivering an engaging and comprehensive curriculum that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and a love for food. Your role will involve preparing and delivering lessons that explore the principles of food preparation, nutrition, and the cultural significance of food. You will have the chance to shape the practical and theoretical knowledge of students, encouraging them to develop skills that will serve them for life.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Food Technology, ensuring all students make progress.
2. Inspire and challenge students to develop their culinary skills and knowledge of nutrition.
3. Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback.
4. Collaborate with colleagues to enrich the Food Technology curriculum and organise practical activities.
5. Promote a safe and stimulating learning environment within the classroom and food lab.

The Ideal Candidate:

1. Experience teaching Food Technology in a secondary school setting.
2. A strong understanding of food science, nutrition, and health.
3. Excellent classroom management skills and a passion for inspiring students.
4. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to the wider school community.
5. A commitment to promoting health, wellbeing, and creativity through the curriculum.
