Job description

GSL Education are seeking to appoint Food Technology Teacher to work at an Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Secondary School located in York, North Yorkshire in September 2025.

Food Technology Teacher Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and practical Food Technology lessons to students.
• Plan and implement creative schemes of work.
• Encourage a passion for nutrition, healthy living, and culinary skills.
• Assessing and providing constructive feedback to students to aid their progress and achievement.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and well-organised classroom environment.

Food Technology Teacher Requirements:

• A teaching qualification, namely a PGCE or a B.Ed. with QTS in Food Technology or Hospitality/Catering/Food Science.
• A specialism in Food Technology, or a closely related subject.
• Passionate about teaching Food Technology along with a strong command of the subject
• A commitment to high standards of teaching, learning, and safeguarding.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for a new one with GSL Education.
