Job summary

HAND Enterprise Solutions LTD. is seeking a Teacher of English for a secondary setting in Whitchurch, Shropshire. The role involves delivering engaging English lessons to KS3–KS5, with opportunities for teaching an additional subject.

The school offers a supportive, therapeutic environment and a start date of 1 September 2026. Permanent contract with a salary ranging from £23,393 to £36,000 per year depending on qualifications and experience; 50 days annual leave (10 weeks) and generous holiday

Salary

Qualified Teacher: £33,000 to £36,000 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience)

Unqualified Teacher: £23,393 to £32,000 per annum (depending on qualifications, experience and performance)

Contract: Permanent

Start Date: 1 September 2026

Phase: Secondary (KS3, KS4 and KS5)

Annual Leave: 10 weeks paid school holiday leave (50 days)

We are a specialist independent school supporting up to 45 young people aged 11 to 18. We provide a therapeutic, trauma-informed education for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and those who have experienced significant adversity.

About The Role

You will deliver engaging, differentiated English lessons across a range of qualification pathways, including:

• Entry Level
• Functional Skills
• GCSE English
• Other qualifications tailored to individual learner needs

Our learners require a flexible and personalised approach, and teaching may take place in whole-class groups, small groups, intervention sessions and one-to-one settings.

The ability to teach an additional subject would be advantageous but is not essential.
