Job Title: Teacher of English and Key Stage 3 Co-Ordinator

St Margaret's Church of England Academy is seeking a reliable and aspirational Teacher of English and Key Stage 3 Co-Ordinator to join our English Department on a permanent basis. This role supports the Head of English in enhancing the quality of teaching and learning for our students.

We are part of the All Saints Multi Academy Trust, which is committed to improving, accelerating, and enabling ambitious life goals for all students across our academies. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic educational community.

Core Responsibilities & Tasks
  • Support and promote the department's priorities within the team and to students.
  • Maintain current knowledge of educational developments related to English.
  • Display enthusiasm for the subject to motivate and engage students.
  • Use diverse teaching strategies to deliver innovative lessons that challenge students and maintain pace.
  • Plan lessons and extended learning activities aligned with schemes of learning.
  • Communicate clear learning objectives and outcomes to students.
  • Provide appropriate scaffolding to meet individual learner needs.
  • Utilize extended learning opportunities outside of regular lessons.
  • Participate in the Academy’s Quality Assurance Programme.
  • Work creatively using available resources, including other staff and mentors.
  • Create a positive learning environment that fosters respectful staff-student interactions.
  • Adhere to the Academy’s Behaviour and Relationships Policy.
  • Provide regular, constructive feedback in line with the Feedback Policy.
  • Engage in professional development to improve teaching practices.
  • Maintain awareness of relevant curriculum developments and initiatives.
  • Support students in accordance with the Academy’s Anti-bullying Policy.
  • Ensure good order and safety during all activities, both on and off-site.
