Teacher of Economics and Business Studies - Maternity Cover at Penistone Grammar School, Barnsley
Are you a confident and passionate teacher committed to ensuring all students benefit from a first-class Economics and Business Studies curriculum and understand how these subjects impact the world beyond school and their future success?
Penistone Grammar School has a maternity cover vacancy for a full-time (part-time also considered) Teacher of Economics, possibly including Business Studies. We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven teacher to join our Business Team.
Contract: Full-time, fixed-term for up to 12 months to cover maternity leave (part-time considered)
Salary Range: MPS/UPS (TLR2: £3390 per annum allowance may be available for an exceptional candidate)
Start Date: 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2026
You will be a Teacher of Economics with some Business Studies, a first-class practitioner who is committed to student learning, capable of making a difference in each student's life, and able to inspire students to achieve more than they believe possible.
For an exceptional candidate, there is a potential TLR role as Second in Department, ideal for those looking to develop leadership skills.
Economics and Business Studies are highly popular at KS4 and KS5. The successful candidate will have experience teaching both GCSE and A-Level, with A-Level experience and 2nd in department experience being particularly advantageous.
