Teacher of Economics and Business Studies - Maternity Cover at Penistone Grammar School, Barnsley

Are you a confident and passionate teacher committed to ensuring all students benefit from a first-class Economics and Business Studies curriculum and understand how these subjects impact the world beyond school and their future success?

Penistone Grammar School has a maternity cover vacancy for a full-time (part-time also considered) Teacher of Economics, and possibly Business Studies. We are seeking a teacher with enthusiasm and drive to join our Business Team.

Contract: Full-time, fixed term for up to 12 months to cover maternity leave (part-time considered)

Salary Range: MPS/UPS (TLR2: £3390 per annum allowance may be available for an exceptional candidate)

Start Date: 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2026

About the role:

You will be a Teacher of Economics with some Business Studies, a first-class practitioner who thrives on student engagement and has the determination to make a difference in each student's life. You will share our vision and inspire students to achieve more than they believe is possible.

There is potential for a TLR role as Second in Department for an exceptional candidate looking to develop leadership skills.

Experience teaching GCSE and A-Level Economics and Business Studies is required, with A-Level experience and 2nd in department experience being advantageous.
