Teacher of Economics and Business Studies - Maternity Cover at Penistone Grammar School, Barnsley

About the role:

Penistone Grammar School has a maternity cover vacancy for a full-time (part-time considered) Teacher of Economics, and possibly Business Studies. We seek a teacher with enthusiasm and drive to join our incredible Business Team.

  • Contract: Full-time, fixed term for up to 12 months to cover maternity leave (part-time considered)
  • Salary Range: MPS/UPS (TLR2: £3390 per annum allowance may be available for an exceptional candidate)
  • Start Date: 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2026
About the ideal candidate:

You will be a Teacher of Economics with some Business Studies, a first-class practitioner who thrives on student commitment, determination, and talent to make a difference. You should share our vision and inspire students to achieve more than they believe possible.

For an exceptional candidate, there is a possibility of a TLR role as Second in Department, offering further leadership development.

Experience:

Experience teaching GCSE and A-Level Economics and Business Studies is essential. A-Level experience is particularly advantageous, along with any 2nd in department experience.
