About Us

We are a Multi Academy Trust comprising of six secondary schools and one primary school with over 750 employees and over 5,500 students, based in Dudley, West Midlands.

Kinver High School is seeking to appoint an inspirational and ambitious Design Technology Teacher to join our ‘warm and welcoming school’ where ‘pupils behave well in lessons’ and ‘are polite and courteous’ (Ofsted Dec 21).

The ideal candidate will share our student-centered values and be an engaging and proactive teacher with a passion for lifelong learning. You must firmly believe and be driven to ensure that every student regardless of starting point, can achieve success, enjoy school, and be engaged with wider school life, to become the best that they can be.

You should be an outstanding classroom practitioner with either the ability and experience to teach through to A-Level, or the desire to one day do so. Kinver High School achieves above national outcomes at KS4 and has an ALPs score of a 2. The successful candidate will build on current developments within the school, Trust and nationally, to continue to improve outcomes and raise aspirations for all students.

The Design Technology department is well resourced and highly regarded by our students, parents and carers. At KS4 all students select a creative option as one of their four choices and our outcomes in Food Technology, DT and Engineering are consistently strong. We are also proud to be officially affiliated as the first Formula One Academy in the Midlands and equally proud of our student’s achievement and track record of success at a both at regional and national level. We have invested heavily in this area and now have new dedicated CNC milling machine, wind tunnel, 25 metre track, 3D printer on which students use professional CAD packages, to develop and test their F1 prototype cars. We believe that these are the unique and elite experiences that make sure that students from Kinver stand out from the crowd and are keen to hear from likeminded teachers who share our vision.

We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Design and Technology Teacher with a specialism in Product Design and Engineering to join our thriving DT department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated educator who can bring energy, expertise, and enthusiasm into the workshop and classroom.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with a background in Product Design and Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of current industry practices, design thinking, and emerging technologies
  • A commitment to high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to inspire young people to pursue careers in STEM and creative industries

We are a highly successful and increasingly popular oversubscribed 11-18 comprehensive school of just over 800 students, situated in the picturesque village location of Kinver on the western fringe of the West Midlands. The school has undergone rapid growth in recent years due to its popularity, moving form a 4-form entry in Year 7 to 6-form entry. The school operates its own designated school coach transport service, which means that our intake spans 5 local authorities and our parents and students choose to come to us, making Kinver the non-selective ‘selective’ school.

We are sure that once you visit us and meet our students, you’ll find that we are the school for you and your career journey, our CPD through school and in partnership with Invictus is exemplary.

We would strongly encourage you to get in touch and arrange a visit. We want the very best teachers for our students and look forward finding out if you are that person.

For an informal discussion about either the school, the post, or to organise a visit, please contact Tyler Brooks, HR Support Officer, via emailtbrooks@invictus.education
