Are you ready to take the next step in your teaching career at one of the region’s most ambitious and forward-thinking schools? Madeley School is seeking a talented and driven Teacher of Design & Technology to join a department on an exciting path of growth and innovation.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a subject area with huge potential. You’ll be working with modern, well-equipped facilities and a highly engaged student body eager to develop practical, creative, and technical skills. We welcome applicants with expertise in Timbers, Metals, or Polymers, who are passionate about delivering high-quality, future-focused learning experiences.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of all three areas at Key Stage 3 and full competency in workshop management, ensuring students receive the very best practical learning experiences.

This role is ideal for experienced teachers looking for an opportunity to be part of an exciting transformation or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) eager to join a school with unrivalled support and mentorship. At Madeley, we are proud of our culture of high achievement, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You will be part of a vibrant professional community that values initiative, encourages innovation, and supports your development.

Our recent Ofsted inspection (Feb 2025) was exceptional, with inspectors impressed by the standards of teaching, leadership, and student achievement.

Why Madeley?

  • Oversubscribed and thriving — received 299 applications for September 2025, with 190 as first-choice preferences.
  • An electrifying culture of excellence — students are inspired, ambitious, and driven to succeed.
  • An engaging, ambitious curriculum designed to excite and involve pupils with hands-on, real-world experiences.

  • A school that feels like home — students feel safe, valued, and supported to exceed their expectations.

Madeley is a school of excellence, committed to delivering an exceptional education driven by a culture of ambition and success.

This is your chance to be part of something truly special. If you’re ready to inspire the next generation and work in an outstanding environment, we want to hear from you!

Take this opportunity to make a lasting impact through your expertise, passion, and innovation!

Candidates are welcome to contact the school for an informal discussion or to arrange a visit.
