Job summary

We are Nacro, a provider of housing, education, justice and health services, seeking a passionate teacher to support young people in learning and achieving their qualifications at our Sheffield centre. Qualifications

  • English and Maths at GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent Level 2
  • Experience in trade preferred
  • Construction-based qualifications level 2 and above

  • Preparing for learning by planning lessons, developing resources, and caring for our classroom spaces,
  • Monitoring students’ progress on their course, providing feedback and support so that students can improve,
  • Assessing students and their work so that they achieve as expected and as needed for their next steps,
  • Working with your colleagues to enhance delivery, identify support needs, and contributing to student experience and enrichment,
  • You may be asked to deliver tutorial or skills lessons as part of your role using our ready-made lessons resources.

  • Salary - £26,807 -£31,982perannum, (Dependant on qualifications and experience)
  • Contract Type - Permanent /Full Time

This role offers a starting salary between£26,807 - £31,982, depending on qualifications and experience. Subject to meeting performance standards and agreed criteria, there is an opportunity for salary progression within the first year, with further increases available over time. Who are we looking for?

We are seeking someone who is passionate about helping young people to learn and achieve, and who can help them be ready to take their next steps. We need someone who is compassionate in their approach, and who can work with young people who may have had multiple barriers to education in the past. We want someone who is flexible and can be part of a small, local team who come together in all circumstances to put our students first.

What will I be doing as a teacher at Nacro?

As a key member of the teaching team, your main focus will always be teaching, learning, and assessment, supporting students to make appropriate progress in lessons, resulting in them achieving qualifications. You will also play an important role within the centre community, supporting your students pastorally, and will have duties related to assurance, making sure our courses run on time, and to a high standard.

Requirements for this role:

English and Maths at GCSE grace C/4 or equivalent Level 2,

Experience in trade preferred
