Job summary

Nacro is seeking a Programme Leader to act as the on-site centre manager, leading a team of teachers and learning support staff to provide a supportive and engaging learning environment for young people facing barriers to education.

You will drive continuous improvement in teaching and learning, work closely with the Head of Curriculum and Engagement, and help raise standards across the centre while delivering some teaching when required.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or equivalent.
  • Level 3 AET or equivalent teaching qualification, or related.
  • Knowledge of quality and regulatory frameworks and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Line management of a team of teachers and learning support colleagues.
  • Overall day-to-day management of the centre.
  • Ensure curriculum is delivered effectively and efficiently with higher standards.
  • Safeguarding responsibilities including designated safeguarding lead in the centre.
  • Collaborate with employers and the community to provide enhanced learning experiences.

This role offers a starting salary within Nacro’s pay structure of Entry Salary £34,421 with expected progression to Established Salary £35,454 within the first year, subject to meeting clear criteria and performance standards, with further pay progression available in the future. We are looking for someone who is passionate about education and genuinely wants to improve the lives and future opportunities of young people.

You will be a confident and supportive leader who can motivate a team, build strong relationships and create a culture where both staff and students can thrive.

You will ideally have experience of working with young people who have faced barriers to education and be committed to providing inclusive, high-quality learning experiences.

We are seeking someone who is passionate about improving the lives and chances of young people who may have had multiple barriers to education in the past.

We need someone who will embrace a varied role, acting as the centre manager and being the leader of a small team.

We want someone who is excited about developing, improving, and nurturing their team to provide impactful teaching, learning and assessment.

What will I be doing as a programme leader?

As ourProgramme Leader, you will be the key on-site manager, creating a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment where every young person has the opportunity to succeed.

You will lead and line manage a team of teachers and learning support colleagues, supporting them to develop their practice and deliver an impactful educational experience.

Working closely with theHead of Curriculum and Engagement, central teams and other managers, you will help drive continuous improvement, overcome day-to-day challenges and raise standards across the centre. You also have the opportunity to deliver some teaching yourself,

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Line management of a team of teachers and learning support colleagues.
  • Overall day-day management of the centre.
  • Ensure that curriculum is delivered effectively and efficiently, working with central teams and other managers to raise standards.
  • Safeguarding including acting as a designated safeguarding lead in your centre.
  • Working with employers and others in the community to provide enhanced learning experiences for students.
Essential requirements for this role
  • GCSE 4/C English and maths or equivalent
  • Level 3 AET or equivalent / relevant teaching and learning related qualification
  • Knowledge and experience of quality and regulatory frameworks and practices
