Leith Academy is seeking a passionate Teacher of Art for a fixed-term position until June 2026. The role involves planning and delivering lessons, working collaboratively with a dedicated team, and utilizing digital learning tools to enhance student engagement. Salary: £33,594 - £50,589 (pro-rata for part time)
Hours: 22.35 per week
An enthusiastic and skilled Teacher of Art is required to join our thriving team on a fixed-term contract from 11th August 2025 until 26th June 2026. You will join a positive department dedicated to ensuring success in learning for all. The Art department is part of the Creative Arts Faculty, which offers a wide range of extracurricular activities, including school shows and after-school clubs.
You will be expected to plan and deliver lessons for S1-6 and work collegiately with department members. Leith Academy utilizes 1:1 iPads throughout the school to enhance learning both in school and at home. The successful applicant should be confident incorporating digital learning in their classroom.
Leith Academy is a diverse and comprehensive secondary school in Edinburgh with approximately 1079 pupils.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
This post involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If the candidate has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of these checks.
