Teacher of Art & Design - Fixed term until 26/06/2026
Gracemount High School is a small, non-denominational secondary school with just over 600 pupils, serving the community of Southeast Edinburgh. Founded in 1959 as a junior secondary school, it has been a fully comprehensive six-year high school since the late 1960s. The school was built under PPP and opened in 2003. Our leadership team includes the Head Teacher, three Depute Head Teachers, a Senior Development Officer, and a Business Manager. We have 50 teaching staff and 20 support staff.
We are a successful and thriving school community that serves a socially diverse population, with over 70% of students living in quintile 1 and 2 of the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation. Our staff are skilled, conscientious, and caring, and we are proud of every student.

Salaries are in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
This position involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The successful candidate will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If the candidate has spent three or more months outside the UK in the last five years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of these checks.
