Position: Teacher of Art & Design - fixed term until 26/06/2026
Location: Gracemount High School
Salary: £33,594 - £50,589
Hours: 35 per week
Gracemount High School is a small, non-denominational secondary school with just over 600 pupils, serving the community of Southeast Edinburgh. Established in 1959 as a junior secondary school and becoming a fully comprehensive six-year high school in the late 1960s, it was rebuilt under PPP and opened in 2003. The leadership team includes the Head Teacher, three Depute Head Teachers, a Senior Development Officer, and a Business Manager. The school employs 50 teaching staff and 20 support staff.
We serve a socially diverse community, with over 70% of students from quintile 1 and 2 of the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation. Our dedicated staff are skilled, conscientious, and caring, and our school values of Responsible, Respectful, and Safe underpin our positive culture. Salaries are in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
This position involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate must join or update the PVG Scheme and may require an Overseas Criminal Record Check if applicable. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of these checks.
