Tax Senior

Are you a personal tax professional looking to take the next step in your career with a firm that values your expertise and supports your development?

A leading accountancy practice in Nottingham is seeking a Tax Senior to join their growing private client team and manage a broad range of personal tax cases.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ATT-qualified professional or someone working towards their CTA, with at least two years’ experience in personal tax gained within practice.

The successful candidate will manage their own client portfolio and support senior colleagues with more complex tax planning projects.

Role responsibilities

• Managing a personal tax portfolio including self-employed individuals, landlords, company directors and high-net-worth clients
• Preparing and reviewing self-assessment tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant deadlines
• Assisting with advisory projects including inheritance tax, capital gains tax, and residence/domicile planning
• Liaising with clients and HMRC to resolve queries and manage correspondence
• Supporting senior team members with technical assignments and tax planning strategies
• Reviewing work prepared by junior staff and supporting their development
• Keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation and sharing knowledge with the wider team

Candidate requirements

• ATT qualified or part-qualified CTA with a minimum of two years’ experience in personal tax
• Strong understanding of UK personal tax legislation and compliance requirements
• Excellent attention to detail and confidence in handling complex returns
• Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, client-focused approach
• Ability to manage time effectively and work both independently and within a team
