Tax Senior

A respected accountancy practice in Derby is looking for a Tax Senior to join their growing private client team and manage a diverse portfolio of personal tax clients.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ATT-qualified individual or someone working towards CTA who has at least two years’ experience in personal tax within practice.

The successful candidate will handle a variety of compliance and advisory work, supporting a range of clients including high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs and family business owners.

Role responsibilities

• Managing a personal tax portfolio including landlords, business owners, directors and trusts
• Preparing and reviewing self-assessment tax returns and ensuring compliance with deadlines
• Supporting advisory projects covering inheritance tax, capital gains tax, and trust planning
• Liaising directly with clients and HMRC to handle queries and deliver high-quality service
• Working alongside senior team members on complex tax planning assignments
• Supporting the training and development of junior team members
• Keeping up to date with personal tax legislation and sharing technical knowledge across the team

Candidate requirements

• ATT qualified or CTA part-qualified with at least two years’ experience in personal tax within practice

• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to manage your own workload and meet tight deadlines
