Job summary

Johnson's Dry Cleaners, part of Timpson Group, in Harrogate, seeks a skilled tailor to join our team. You will perform alterations and repairs on a variety of garments, support branches and the Area Manager, and deliver excellent customer service.

We offer 40-hour weeks, weekends included, with potential overtime; starting pay £12.75 per hour, rising to £12.80 after a trial, plus uncapped weekly bonuses and other benefits.

Qualifications

Proficiency in sewing and tailoring techniques.
Knowledge of fabrics and garment construction.
Strong customer service skills.
Attention to detail for precise alterations.
Problem-solving abilities for unexpected challenges.
Effective time management.
Experience with various garments.
Retail or alteration environment experience.

Responsibilities

Carry out alterations and repairs for a range of garments.
Shortening/lengthening, taking in or letting out sizes.
Replace broken zippers and other repair work.
Curtain shortening and related alteration tasks.
Assist branch customers and discuss fitting needs.
