Job summary

Johnson's Dry Cleaners, part of the Timpson Group, is seeking a skilled tailor to join our Harrogate team. If you have expert sewing and alteration skills and enjoy delivering outstanding customer service, this permanent full-time role could be for you.

You will work 40 hours across five days, including weekends. Starting pay is £12.75 per hour, rising to £12.80 after a successful trial, with an uncapped weekly bonus.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in sewing and tailoring techniques.
• Knowledge of fabrics and garment construction.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Attention to detail for precise alterations.
• Problem-solving abilities for unexpected challenges.
• Effective time management skills.
• Experience with a variety of garment types.
• Previous work in retail or alteration environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all types of alterations and repairs; shorten/lengthen garments.
• Take in or let out garments to adjust size.
• Replace broken zippers in garments.
• Other related repair/alterations work.
• Curtain shortening.
• Help serve customers in the branch and discuss needs including fittings.
