Job summary

Johnson's Dry Cleaners, part of the Timpson Group, invites a skilled tailor to join our team in Richmond. The role focuses on expert sewing and alterations, serving customers, and supporting multiple branches within the area.

We offer a starting pay of £12.75 per hour, rising to £12.80 after a trial, with uncapped weekly bonuses and a 40-hour week including weekends. Promotion prospects and ongoing training are provided.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in sewing and tailoring techniques.
• Knowledge of various fabrics and garment construction.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Attention to detail for precise alterations.
• Problem-solving abilities for unexpected challenges.
• Effective time management.
• Experience with a variety of garment types.
• Previous work experience in a retail or alteration environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out alterations and repairs including shortening and lengthening garments.
• Take in or letting out garments to adjust size.
• Replace broken zippers in garments.
• Curtain shortening.
• Help serve customers in the branch and discuss their needs including fittings.
• Support Area Manager and branches with repairs and alterations.
