Job summary

Cirrus Selection Limited in Bristol is seeking a Systems Integration and Trials Engineer for Naval Air Defence. You will drive trials from lab to sea, coordinating with systems engineering and design teams, and handling data analysis and readiness reviews.

The role involves UK and overseas travel, security clearance eligibility, and a mix of laboratory to field testing across naval air defence platforms.

Systems Integration and Trials Engineer, Naval Air Defence

Based in Bristol

Salary up to £45,000

Ever wondered what happens after a system leaves the drawing board and has to prove itself in the real world? That's this job.

You'll join a growing systems integration and trials team working on naval based air defence systems, taking equipment from the lab through to sea trials and live firing trials. It's varied, hands on, and genuinely consequential work, with UK and overseas travel built into the role.

What you'll actually do

• Plan, generate, and execute trials alongside systems engineering and design teams
• Investigate and resolve design issues using real trials data
• Run post trials data analysis and write up findings
• Prepare and deliver Trials Readiness Reviews, internally and externally
• Get involved across the full range of testing, laboratory integration, ground trials, harbour and sea trials, firing trials, including some conducted abroad
• Support lab management, including risk assessments, asset control, and safety

What you'll need (essential)

• Solid experience in systems integration, test, or trials work, ideally in defence, naval, or another safety critical engineering environment
• Comfortable working across electrical, mechanical, or electronic interfaces
• Confident communicating with engineers, subcontractors, and management alike
• Eligible for UK security clearance, meaning British citizenship or dual UK nationality with British citizenship is required.

Nice to have (desirable, not essential)

• Exposure to MBSE tools such as DOORS, Rhapsody, or RTC
• Some Python or scripting experience
• Background in missile systems, network integration, or design verification and acceptance testing
