Job summary

MBDA is seeking a proactive Systems Proving Engineer to join the Integration and Systems Validation team in the Naval Based Air Defence domain (Sea Viper). The role offers a dynamic hybrid pattern with up to 4 days on-site and British citizenship or dual nationality required for BPSS checks.

You will plan, generate and execute trials, coordinate with systems engineering and design teams, and generate trials documentation. Travel within the UK and possibly abroad is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Experience with system integration and trial planning.
• Familiarity with MBSE tools and engineering workflows.
• Ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Plan, generate and execute trials with systems engineering and design teams.
• Ensure trials data is captured and investigate design issues.
• Prepare and deliver Trials Readiness Reviews and post-trial analyses.
• Support various trials including laboratory, ground, harbour and sea trials.

We are looking for a proactive and committed Systems Proving Engineer to join the Integration and Systems Validation team in the Naval Based Air Defence domain (Sea Viper). Due to contracts won and expected, this is an exciting time to join an expanding team.

Salary

Up to £46,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working

Up to 4 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance

British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

The opportunity:

We are looking for a broad-based Systems Proving engineer who will be able to:

• Work with the systems engineering team and design teams to plan, generate and execute trials;
• Liaise with the systems engineering team and design teams to ensure adequate trials data is acquired and to investigate and resolve design issues;
• Generate trials documentation;
• Prepare, deliver and follow up internal and external Trials Readiness Reviews;
• Conduct post trials data analysis and reporting;
• Conduct and/or support trials including:

• Laboratory based functional integration trials / system trials
• Ground based trials
• Harbour trials and sea trials
• Firing Trials

In addition, the candidate will assist with:

• Lab Management responsibilities (e.g. maintain risk assessments, asset management, host audits, maintain lab safety etc.);
• Maintaining hardware and software configuration control.

The job will involve opportunities to travel within the UK and possibly abroad.

Experience of working in one of the following environments:

• Missile Test
• Interface Design
• System assessment and acceptance
• Design Verification
• Electrical / mechanical construction and interfacing
• Electronic design/test
• Network integration

Plus:

• Be able to communicate with a wide range of internal customers, sub-contractors / partners/ suppliers at both engineering and management levels;
• Beneficial to have experience of MBSE tools, e.g. DOORS, Rhapsody, RTC;
• Beneficial but not essential, to have experience of coding, especially Python
