Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the AEDC Practice in the UK, delivering complex defence and critical infrastructure programmes across the full systems engineering lifecycle.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams to apply systems engineering principles, support requirements management, contribute to architecture, design and integration, and participate in technical reviews and MBSE activities on major national programmes at secure sites.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in a STEM discipline (or equivalent experience).
• CEng, CSEP, or working towards professional registration.
• Experience applying systems engineering within defence or regulated environments.
• Understanding of ISO 15288 and systems engineering lifecycles.
• Experience in requirements, architecture, design, integration, verification or validation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiarity with modelling notations (SysML/UML).
• Experience with defence acquisition and governance.

Responsibilities

• Apply systems engineering principles across the lifecycle.
• Support requirements management with traceability through design, verification and validation.
• Contribute to system architecture, design and integration on complex programmes.
• Support technical reviews, trade studies and engineering decision-making.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients and stakeholders to deliver outcomes.
• Apply digital engineering approaches, including MBSE, to analysis and communication.
• Contribute to project planning, risk management and programme delivery.
• Develop knowledge of MOD acquisition processes and KiD.
