Leeds College of Building is seeking a Systems Administrator to maintain, evolve, and secure our IT infrastructure across on‑premises and cloud environments. The role involves proactive system administration, monitoring, backups, and project delivery to support staff and students.

Reporting to the Digital Support Manager, you will balance hands-on support with system maintenance and participate in cross-site IT initiatives while adapting to occasional out-of-hours work.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting Windows 11 and Windows Server, networking technologies, Active Directory, and Microsoft cloud administration (365, Entra, Intune).
• PowerShell scripting capability.
• A Degree in an IT-related discipline or equivalent industry certifications.
• Level 2 Maths and English Qualifications.
• Desirable: experience in education and training colleagues.
• Desirable: virtualization, project management, software deployment, cyber security, backups & disaster recovery, cloud-based asset management.

Responsabilités

• Perform routine system administration tasks across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Provide frontline IT support to staff and students, handling incidents from first contact to resolution.
• Monitor systems, backups, security alerts and perform DR testing.
• Deploy, document and test new software/hardware; manage onsite and cloud-hosted servers.
• Support Microsoft 365, including configuration and user training.
• Assist with projects and cross-site IT initiatives.
