Job summary

Cyngor Sir Ceredigion County Council invites applications for an IT Apprenticeship in Digital Infrastructure Engineering. The two-year scheme leads to a Level 3 Diploma, with workplace learning, online learning and offsite workshops, which may involve occasional travel.

You will help maintain and develop the Council’s IT systems, assist with configuration, data validation and reporting, and provide user support while gaining hands-on experience in systems administration and customer service.

Job description

Please note that the advertised salary for this position is subject to the pending 2026/2027 national pay award. The final salary will be adjusted accordingly once this has been agreed.

The role
  • Maintaining and developing the Council’s HR and Payroll system
  • Assisting with system configuration, user access and permissions
  • Supporting colleagues with system queries and troubleshooting issues
  • Testing system updates and enhancements
  • Assisting with data validation and reporting
  • Assistant with developing guidance and support materials for users
  • Providing excellent customer service to colleagues across the Council
The apprenticeship

Your apprenticeship will last 2 years and on successful completion you will achieve a Level 3 Diploma in Digital Infrastructure Engineering. Training will be delivered through a combination of workplace learning, online learning and offsite workshops, which may involve occasional travel.

Please note that apprenticeship eligibility is subject to training provider criteria. Applicants who already hold a higher level qualification, such as an HNC, HND or degree in an IT-related subject, may not be eligible to undertake this apprenticeship.
