Morson Edge is assisting with the recruitment of a Systems Requirements Engineer for UK nuclear projects. The role focuses on capturing, developing and maintaining system requirements using IBM DOORS, ensuring traceability across the lifecycle and supporting verification and validation activities.

The candidate will attend design reviews and work with SMEs and project teams to ensure requirements align with project objectives, with a mix of on-site Derby presence and home-based work.

Job: Systems Requirement Engineer - Nuclear (SC Clearance Required)

Location: Derby (near to train station) - 2 days on site every other week, the rest worked from home (some flexibility might be considered)

Rate: Up to £75.00/hr Umbrella rate + travel, accommodation and subsistence

Status:Contract - Inside IR35 with good long-term possibility (37.5 hours/week)

Start: October 2026 onwards (reasonable notice would be acceptable)

Morson Edge are currently assisting our major client in their search for SystemsRequirement Engineers to support the construction of a number of large buildings which will form part of a key UK nuclear industry development / manufacturing programme.

Working within the requirements team, the client is thus looking for process-driven systems engineering specialistswith Doors experience, as well as proven regulated industry project experience.

The role will require attendance at the client’s office in Derby 2 days every 2 weeks, with the rest worked from home. Some flexibility in these arrangements might be considered for the right candidate.

Candidates should possess valid SC level security clearance.

Role / Purpose

The System Requirements Engineer will support the development, review and management of system requirements for a complex engineering programme. Working closely with Systems Engineers, Subject Matter Experts and Project Engineering teams, the role will be responsible for capturing, developing and maintaining requirements within IBM DOORS, ensuring traceability throughout the engineering lifecycle and supporting verification and validation activities. The position will involve attendance at design reviews, engineering meetings and regular engagement with key project stakeholders to ensure requirements are developed and delivered in line with project objectives.

Key Deliverables

• Develop and maintain System Requirements within IBM DOORS.
• Attend and contribute to engineering and single and multi-discipline design review meetings and when required by the project systems teams (some can be achieved by Teams)
• Work with SMEs to capture and refine system requirements.
• Maintain requirements traceability.
• Support Verification & Validation activities.
• Raise / Provide Technical Queries (TQs)through the Project Engineering Manager as required to support the development of the System Requirements;
• Provide regular progress updates to the System Engineering Manager and Project Requirements Lead.
• Identify and escape technical issues and risks.
• Deliver assigned requirements packages to agreed project timescales
