Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent qualification in relevant mathematical sciences.
• Demonstrated research ability in an area of applied mathematics aligning with School strengths.
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
• Capacity to conduct productive research at an international level.
• Strong publication record in top, peer‑reviewed journals.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise PhD and Masters students.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values.

Responsibilities

• Carry out high quality research aligned with the School’s strengths and publish in influential journals.
• Develop research collaborations within the School, the University, and internationally.
• Disseminate findings at seminars and conferences within UNSW and beyond.
• Deliver high quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
• Supervise Honours and postgraduate projects; mentor PhD and Masters students.
• Engage with industry and community to build productive relationships and attract funding.
