Job summary

UNSW Sydney invites applications for Level B and Level C roles in functional genomics and disease modelling. The positions involve leading research programs, collaborating across UNSW-linked institutes, and teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in molecular biology and genome engineering.

The successful applicant will supervise HDRs, secure national grants, publish impactful work, and contribute to a collegial, inclusive, and safe research culture aligned with UNSW values.

Qualifications

• A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated track record in functional genomics research with high impact.
• Experience with genome engineering or perturbation approaches, incl. CRISPR-Cas systems.
• Experience with isogenic iPSC disease models and/or organoid models advantageous.
• Proven teaching experience and ability to design and deliver courses.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development of applications for competitive funding.
• Assist with delivery of Predict-Perturb-Validate-Translate workflow.
• Apply CRISPR perturbation methods and develop molecular readouts.
• Mentor HDRs and contribute to teaching and service.
• Lead research program in functional genomics and disease modelling.
