Job description

Swimming Teacher - Thame, Oxfordshire

GLL is currently seeking swimming teachers around Thame, Oxfordshire. Join us as a swimming teacher and play a key role in developing our customers' swimming skills. This is your chance to deliver safe, consistent swimming lessons that give people confidence in the water and teach them an invaluable life skill.

As an experienced swimming teacher, you'll support learners in achieving their potential by considering their individual needs. You will apply your knowledge of practices, progression, and teaching points effectively. While some administration is involved, most of your time will be dedicated to teaching people to become stronger swimmers, whether in groups or one-to-one, from children to adults.

We are looking for approachable, friendly, and patient individuals who can build trust, motivate pupils, and encourage progress through praise. You should be STA Award or Certificate level or Swim England Level 2 qualified, and ideally hold the National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers & Coaches. Knowledge of health and safety legislation, Child Protection Policy, and safeguarding procedures is essential.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintain a positive and professional image of the Centre by providing a welcoming and helpful poolside service.
2. Comply with the 'Customer Charter' and uphold the required standards.
3. Ensure the safety and control of pupils during lessons and enforce relevant regulations.
4. Encourage pupils to enroll in further courses and assist with enrolments as needed.
5. Follow safeguarding policies and procedures outlined within the Swim School guidelines.
6. Record and complete relevant awards, ensuring standards are met.
7. Teach according to the standards set in the product manual to ensure consistency across centres.
