Swimming Teacher Trainee Opportunity at GLL

GLL is currently recruiting trainee Swimming Teachers to join us at Windrush Leisure Centre. All our Swimming Teachers are qualified to at least STA Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming. These nationally recognized qualifications equip you with the skills to teach non-swimmers, beginners, and improvers.

If you have a passion and talent for swimming, you could be part of our team and help teach people of all ages a valuable life skill. As the largest swimming school in the UK, our continued growth means we are looking to qualify and employ more Swimming Teachers. Note: Successful applicants will be fully funded to complete their STA Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming.

We offer a range of hours across weekdays and weekends. The next available STA Level 2 Award Course will be held at Carterton Leisure Centre from 11th to 16th August 2025.

Candidate Requirements:

• A competent swimmer
• A good communicator (verbal and non-verbal)
• A good motivator (supportive and able to give feedback)
• Approachable and patient
• Imaginative
• Willing to learn and commit to a 5-day intensive training course
• Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential

Being a Swimming Teacher is highly rewarding, supporting individuals to achieve their potential. While some administration is involved, most of your time will be spent teaching across a range of ages and abilities once qualified.

After qualification, you will join one of our Teaching Teams, working with a Lead Teacher for support in your daily role.
