Job summary

Leisure Solutions Community Trust (LSCT) at South Charnwood Leisure Centre in Syston is seeking a Swimming Coordinator to lead a team of swimming teachers and oversee the learn-to-swim programme. This part-time role focuses on community engagement and delivering high-quality lessons to participants of all ages.

The successful candidate will recruit and manage staff, coordinate sessions, monitor KPIs, and collaborate with schools and partners to grow the programme while ensuring excellent

Qualifications

• Swim England Level 2 or STA Level 2 qualification required.
• Experience leading leisure or aquatics teams.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of qualified Swimming Teachers, including recruitment, rotas, performance and development.
• Coordinate and grow the swimming lessons programme to meet community needs.
• Ensure high-quality delivery of lessons to boost retention.
• Build relationships with customers, schools and partners to support outreach.
• Monitor performance through KPIs and reports to improve service.
• Support operational delivery and occasionally teach lessons as needed.
• Assist with marketing and promotion of the swimming programme.

Location: South Charnwood Leisure Centre, Syston, LE7 1LY

Hourly Rate: £15 per hour plus excellent benefits

Schedule: Permanent, 16 hours per week (plus up to 10 hours of Swim Teaching available per week). Flexible shifts on 3-week rota including some weekends and evenings.

As a Swimming Coordinator, you'll play a key role in helping people of all ages build confidence in the water, develop essential life skills, and enjoy the benefits of an active lifestyle. You'll lead and develop swimming lesson programmes, support a team of Swimming Teachers, and work closely with colleagues across the centre to drive growth, retention, and community engagement. Your work has purpose, creating a positive impact on communities while helping more people access high-quality swimming opportunities now and into the future.

What You’ll Do As a Swimming Coordinator

• Lead, manage and develop a team of qualified Swimming Teachers, including recruitment, rotas, performance and development
• Coordinate and grow the swimming lessons programme, introducing new sessions and courses to meet community needs
• Ensure high-quality delivery of lessons that encourage retention and repeat participation
• Build strong relationships with customers, schools and local partners to support outreach and programme growth
• Monitor performance through reporting and KPIs, using insight to improve customer experience and business performance
• Support operational delivery, including stepping in to teach lessons where required to maintain service levels
• Support with the marketing and promotion of the Swimming Lesson programme

Does this sound like you?

• Swim England Level 2 or STA Level 2 Swim Teacher qualification
• Experience managing or supervising teams within a leisure or aquatics environment
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to build trust with customers
• Experience delivering or managing swimming lesson programmes and working with high customer volumes
• Confidence using IT systems and producing reports, alongside good communication and organisational skills

Vetting and checks

An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
