Job summary

Leisure Solutions Community Trust (LSCT) is recruiting a Swimming Coordinator to lead a team of qualified Swimming Teachers and drive the swimming lessons programme at Loughborough Leisure Centre. You will recruit, schedule, monitor performance and support the team to deliver engaging lessons for all ages.

You will work with partners to grow sessions, monitor KPIs, and ensure high-quality delivery while maintaining excellent customer service and a flexible rota that includes weekends and

Qualifications

  • Swim England Level 2 or STA Level 2 Swim Teacher qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience managing or supervising teams in leisure/aquatics.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

  • Coordinate and grow the swimming lessons programme to meet community needs.

Job description

Location: Loughborough Leisure Centre, LE11 3HE


Hourly Rate: £15 per hour plus excellent benefits


Schedule: Permanent, 24 hours per week (plus up to 10 hours of Swim Teaching available per week). Flexible shifts on 3-week rota including some weekends and evenings.

As a Swimming Coordinator, you'll play a key role in helping people of all ages build confidence in the water, develop essential life skills, and enjoy the benefits of an active lifestyle. You'll lead and develop swimming lesson programmes, support a team of Swimming Teachers, and work closely with colleagues across the centre to drive growth, retention, and community engagement. Your work has purpose, creating a positive impact on communities while helping more people access high-quality swimming opportunities now and into the future.


What You’ll Do As a Swimming Coordinator


  • Lead, manage and develop a team of qualified Swimming Teachers, including recruitment, rotas, performance and development

  • Coordinate and grow the swimming lessons programme, introducing new sessions and courses to meet community needs

  • Ensure high-quality delivery of lessons that encourage retention and repeat participation

  • Build strong relationships with customers, schools and local partners to support outreach and programme growth

  • Monitor performance through reporting and KPIs, using insight to improve customer experience and business performance

  • Support operational delivery, including stepping in to teach lessons where required to maintain service levels

  • Support with the marketing and promotion of the Swimming Lesson programme


Does this sound like you?


  • Swim England Level 2 or STA Level 2 Swim Teacher qualification

  • Experience managing or supervising teams within a leisure or aquatics environment

  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to build trust with customers

  • Experience delivering or managing swimming lesson programmes and working with high customer volumes

  • Confidence using IT systems and producing reports, alongside good communication and organisational skills

Vetting and checks

An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
