Job summary

ERS in Swansea is seeking an Assistant Underwriter to support our underwriting teams in researching and assessing risk on new and existing policies. You’ll capture key information needed to decide on quotes, changes, or cancellations, following Underwriting Guides and guidance from experienced colleagues.

This role is based at our Swansea contact centre, within a specialist team dedicated to bespoke motor insurance products, delivering accurate, timely decisions and a high standard of client

Responsibilities

• Process new business quotes, renewals, mid-term amendments and cancellations within guidelines.
• Liaise with underwriters for support on risks outside approved authority.
• Aim for quality and first-time right decisions to aid client choice of ERS.
• Meet personal targets through collaboration to support ERS business plans.
• Identify potential fraud and refer to the Policy Validation Unit as needed.
• Work within regulatory requirements and internal guidelines.
• Continuously learn and develop to improve performance.
• Demonstrate behaviours expected in ERS high-performance culture.
