Team/Role Overview

Markets Operations represents the evolution and transformation of Operations in the Finance Industry, creating a uniqueness in how we deliver our products and solutions. Our organization is global and diverse, with a presence in over 60 countries, covering all post-execution Operations teams including product aligned Middle Office groups, Settlements, Margin, Asset Servicing, Listed Derivative, Clearing & Commodities Operations. We support a wide range of Capital Markets products and services, including Fixed Income, Equity, and Syndicates, where Citi remains a top market player.

Our Operations teams are central to all activity at the firm, impacting the entire trade lifecycle. We collaborate extensively with internal stakeholders such as Front Office Sales and Trading Desks, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and HR, and maintain significant external client interactions to ensure a first-class experience.

We operate in a robust control environment, comply with regulations, and proactively identify risk reduction opportunities through continuous control evaluations. We work closely with external peers, partners, and regulators, leading initiatives to optimize and streamline processes industry-wide.

The Margin & Collateral Operations within Markets Operations helps mitigate risk, comply with regulations, and deliver best-in-class capabilities in margin and collateral management, inventory, and risk management. The Product & Business Development team within this group focuses on designing and executing products and services aligned with strategic initiatives.

Transformation

The Margin & Collateral Operations Program is a multi-year investment initiative aiming to transform our operating model through product development, process design, and platform implementation.

What You'll Do
  • Operate as a senior leader within the Product & Business Development team, with deep expertise in products/services, front-to-back flows, risk, and regulations.
  • Lead product development and strategy, ensuring alignment with the target operating model.
  • Ensure product and service designs meet standards and are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Drive transformation initiatives focusing on risk reduction, cost efficiency, client service, and revenue growth.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including technology, business, operations, and vendors.
  • Provide sound evaluative judgment in complex situations, drawing from diverse sources.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of margin and collateral optimization.
  • Champion diversity and inclusion, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and robust controls.
  • Develop talent through coaching and mentoring.
What We'll Need From You
  • BA/BS degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience in margin and collateral, with a strong understanding of regulations, securities products, practices, risks, and strategic program delivery.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • Innovative, flexible, collaborative, and proactive leadership qualities.
  • Logical thinker with problem-solving skills and result orientation.
  • Clear and concise writing and presentation skills for senior audiences.
