Civic is a team of system thinkers in the built environment. We are seeking a talented Structural Design Engineer to join our Manchester studio, collaborating with private and public clients and guiding junior staff.

You will shape sustainable designs and manage drawings and calculations with attention to quality and safety. We value flexible hours and hybrid working, with core hours and a commitment to DEI, wellbeing and professional development.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer on journey or equivalent professional path.
• Strong design and drafting capability with clear communication.
• Interest in leading and developing junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Structural engineering design and calculations.
• Preparing, presenting and checking drawings and calculations.
• Briefing Technicians and Graduates.
• Attending site and project team meetings with a Senior Engineer.
• Occasional site visits for survey and inspection.
• Contributing to bids and fee proposals.
• On project training and adherence to CDM Regulations 2015.
• Compliance with Practice QMS.
