Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Shift Technician in Camelford to maintain electrical and mechanical systems across industrial facilities. You will work on pumps, boilers and steam processes, rotating on a 12-hour day/night shift with a 4-week rota.

You will read P&IDs, manage instrumentation and safety protocols, and perform preventive and reactive maintenance. The role involves some lifting, working at heights and confined spaces, with ongoing training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience with pumps, compressors, boilers and steam systems.
• Ability to read P&IDs and electrical drawings.
• Understanding of instrumentation and safety protocols.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance of industrial electrical and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out work as per schedule by Contracts Manager or Supervisor.
• Complete site documentation before/after tasks.
• Liaise with subcontractors during planned service maintenance.
• Ensure all work complies with site EHS and Veolia EHS rules.
• Flexibility to work on equipment across buildings and during maintenance shutdowns.
• Participate in audits of ME plant rooms and follow up actions.
• Carrying out routine, preventive, reactive and breakdown works on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Maintain steam boilers per OEM specifications.
• Rectify plant faults to keep plants in serviceable order 24/7.
• Maintain plant quality records and reports.
• Daily routine operational tasks in line with legislation and policies.
• Provide shift coverage to maintain continuity during holidays.
