Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Shift Technician in Camelford to join our industrial maintenance team, covering a balanced mix of electrical and mechanical work on pumps, boilers and steam systems across-site equipment. The role requires reading P&IDs, instrumentation understanding and hands-on troubleshooting in a shift-based environment.

We offer a 12-hour day/night shift pattern on a 4-week rota, with 42 hours per week and opportunities for overtime and Veolia benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience with Pumps, Compressors, Boilers, steam systems and ancillary services.
• Ability to read and understand P&IDs/electrical drawings.
• An understanding of Instrumentation.
• Understanding of safety protocols.
• Equipment troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Preventive maintenance procedures.
• Computer literacy and software applications.
• Good understanding of mechanical systems.
• Reading technical manuals and schematics.
• Quality control procedures.
• Documentation and record-keeping.
• Communication skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Carry out work as per schedule supplied by the Contracts Manager or Supervisor.
• Complete site documentation before and after work tasks.
• Liaise with subcontractors during planned service maintenance.
• All work on site to be carried out in accordance with site EHS and Veolia EHS rules.
• Flexibility to work on equipment in all buildings and during maintenance shutdowns.
• Participate in audits of mechanical and electrical plant rooms and follow up on actions.
• Carry out routine and statutory planned preventative maintenance, reactive and breakdown works to all mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ensure steam boilers are maintained as per OEM specifications.
• Rectify plant faults to keep plants in serviceable order (24/7).
• Maintain plant quality records and reports.
• Carry out daily routine operational tasks to plants per legislation and policy.
• Provide shift coverage to maintain operational continuity when colleagues are on holiday.
