Job summary

DPD Carlisle is hiring dedicated 3.5 Tonne Drivers to join our team. You will be the face of the brand, delivering parcels across our region with a focus on first-class service and safe, efficient handling.

This permanent, full-time role offers 40 hours per week, shift patterns 07:30–18:00, and a pay rate of £13.00 per hour with enhanced overtime. We provide great benefits, career progression and support for you and your family.

Qualifications

You’ve held a valid UK Driving Licence for at least 12 months.
You’re physically fit (can handle parcels up to 30kg).
You’re a "people person" who's professional and reliable and you care about the service you deliver.
You’re comfortable navigating local roads and using handheld devices.

Responsibilities

Vehicle prep and loading: start your shift with safety checks, load your van for your route.
Route mastery: use handheld tech to navigate and receive predicted delivery windows.
Customer interaction: deliver parcels with a friendly, professional service.
Problem solving on the go: handle safe places and tricky apartment blocks with local knowledge and tech.
Safe handling: protect the vehicle and parcels up to 25kg each from depot to destination.
