Role: Project & Process Manager - Sustainability

Type: Temporary – 12 Months

Location: Macclesfield – 3 days on-site per week / 2 days remote

Job Description

The purpose of this role is to manage projects and own processes supporting the enterprise-wide transformation of sustainability performance. The role involves championing an approach where sustainability is fully embedded in all activities, impacting flagship sustainability initiatives.

The Project & Process Manager is responsible for risk, benefits, and value management, resolving or escalating risks and issues as needed. They ensure project teams adhere to quality and compliance standards and support assurance activities.

Projects led by this role may require significant financial investment and involve reputational risk, with a large internal and external stakeholder base.

The role demands cross-organizational ownership, global connectivity, and representation of Global Sustainability internally and externally.

The role holder will act as a Business Process Owner within Global Sustainability, including process review, improvement, and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional sustainability projects, establishing and guiding teams to deliver on time and within budget (e.g., smart metering deployment).
• Own and improve business processes using a business process management approach.
• Provide expert input to transformational activities as the sustainability representative.
• Develop and promote sustainability strategies within AstraZeneca.
• Coordinate projects and alliances with internal and external stakeholders, bringing clarity to complex situations.
• Manage project budgets and benefits.
• Identify and manage project risks, making decisions on risk management.
• Communicate effectively and influence stakeholders on sensitive issues, supporting key decisions.
• Demonstrate high business acumen.
• Experience in sustainability projects or functions.
