Job summary

Veolia Group in Basingstoke is looking for an Operations & Maintenance Supervisor to oversee environmental permit compliance and daily site activities. The role is 40 hours per week, Mon–Fri, with 05:30–17:00 shift windows and a salary of £36,675.14 per annum.

You will supervise tipping hall operations and ensure safe, efficient plant and equipment use. Experience in regulatory health & safety requirements and an engineering background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Regulatory and health & safety knowledge relevant to waste/environmental operations.
• Engineering experience or background applicable to an operations role.
• Qualifications aligning with the responsibilities of supervising environmental permits.
• Experience in an industrial setting, ideally with continuous process operations.
• Ability to operate or train on mobile equipment and fixed plant.
• Willingness to work shift patterns and work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day compliance with the Environmental Permit and report non-compliance or incidents.
• Oversee tipping hall activities and ensure OMAs are used to maintain efficiency.
• Supervise safe operation of ERF and associated equipment in routine and emergency scenarios.
• Manage reception/disposal of waste ensuring vehicle and driver compliance on site.
• Coordinate crane, mobile plant, weighbridge and other equipment as required.
• Work within Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental Management Systems and legislation.
• Assist other staff and contractors; perform other duties as requested.
