Job summary

Salterbaxter is seeking a Freelance Senior Reporting Consultant to help leading brands navigate evolving sustainability and corporate reporting. You will combine ESG expertise, strategic thinking and storytelling to shape disclosures and communicate progress with confidence.

Joining our award-winning reporting team, you will lead from gap analysis to final production, facilitate stakeholder workshops, and translate complex sustainability information into clear narratives for diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Proven sustainability or ESG reporting consultancy experience with client-facing responsibilities.
• Hands-on experience reporting against CSRD, plus GRI, SASB and TCFD frameworks.
• Strong understanding of ESG disclosure requirements, trends and market expectations.
• Knowledge of ESG ratings and assessment methodologies, using industry benchmarks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Collaborative, well-organised, able to balance independent work with teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Partner with clients to develop sustainability and reporting strategies and deliverables.

• Provide expert guidance on sustainability topics, performance metrics and reporting best practices.
• Support organisations in enhancing disclosures across regulatory requirements and recognised reporting frameworks.
• Lead reporting activities from gap analysis and content planning through to drafting, design collaboration and final production.
• Facilitate workshops and client discussions, building trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Translate complex sustainability information into clear, insightful and engaging narratives.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver work that is accurate, impactful and delivered on schedule.

Skills we're looking for

• Proven experience in sustainability, ESG or corporate reporting consultancy, with strong client-facing expertise.
• Hands-on experience supporting reporting against CSRD, together with frameworks such as GRI, SASB and TCFD.
• Strong understanding of ESG disclosure requirements, reporting trends and evolving market expectations.
• Knowledge of ESG ratings, rankings and assessment methodologies, including recognised industry benchmarks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of audiences.
• Strong analytical and writing skills, with a focus on producing clear, accurate and high-quality outputs.
• A collaborative and organised approach, with the ability to balance independent working and teamwork across complex projects.
