The Opportunity Hub UK Ltd in Bristol is seeking an ambitious Sustainability Consultant to shape how AgriTech businesses measure environmental impact. You will lead carbon footprint work from raw data through to reporting and translate regulations into practical guidance for the product team.
You’ll collaborate with farmers and suppliers to identify hotspots, build scoring models, and present findings to clients, while monitoring UK/EU rules that affect agriculture.
Ambitious Sustainability Consultant wanted to drive real impact in AgriTech from Bristol.
Food production sits at the centre of the climate conversation, and the pressure on growers, suppliers and retailers to prove their credentials is only getting heavier. This AgriTech startup builds the measurement and reporting tools that let agricultural businesses track their environmental footprint properly, rather than guessing at it. Join at this stage and you shape how the product handles sustainability data, not just how it's reported on.
Here's what you'll be doing:
Lead carbon footprint assessments for agricultural clients, from raw data collection through to final reporting
Translate complex sustainability regulations into practical guidance the product team can actually build against
Work directly with farmers, suppliers and food producers to gather data and spot where the real emissions hotspots are
Build and refine sustainability frameworks and scoring models specific to AgriTech supply chains
Present findings to clients and internal stakeholders, including the uncomfortable numbers as well as the good ones
Stay on top of UK and EU environmental legislation affecting agriculture, and flag what it means for the business
Here are the skills you'll need:
A degree in environmental science, sustainability, agriculture or a related field, plus 2-4 years' relevant consulting or in-house experience
Solid understanding of carbon accounting methodologies (GHG Protocol experience is a strong plus)
Comfortable working with data. You don't need to be an analyst, but spreadsheets shouldn't scare you
Strong written and verbal communication. You'll need to explain technical findings to non-technical clients
Genuine interest in agriculture or food systems helps. This isn't a role for someone who just likes the word "sustainability"
Comfortable with ambiguity. Small teams mean the brief changes, and you'll need to adapt without being told twice
Key perks and benefits:
£32,500 to £49,000, depending on experience
Equity in the business. If it grows, you grow with it
Hybrid working from Bristol, with flexible hours built around your life rather than a clock
A proper learning and development budget, used however you see fit
Flat structure. No layers of management between you and the decisions that matter
Why pursue a career in AgriTech?
AgriTech is one of the fastest-growing corners of the climate economy, and Bristol has become a genuine hub for it, with a cluster of food and environmental startups that didn't exist a decade ago. Sustainability Consultant roles here come with unusually fast progression, because small teams hand you real responsibility early rather than making you wait for it. Get in now and you're building a career alongside an industry that's still being written.
