The Opportunity Hub UK Ltd in Cardiff is seeking a mid-level AgriTech Platform Developer to help build a platform that turns weather, sensor data and field insights into actionable software for growers and supply chains.
You will collaborate with agronomists, translate real farming problems into features, and own end-to-end delivery from idea to production in a hybrid Cardiff-based role with an equity stake for contributors.
An exceptional opportunity for a mid-level AgriTech Platform Developer to shape the future of AgriTech in Cardiff.
Farming has become a data problem as much as a soil problem, and the businesses solving it well are growing fast. This early-stage AgriTech company, based in Cardiff, builds software that helps growers and supply chain partners make better decisions with less waste. Join now and you're not maintaining someone else's system. You're helping build the thing from the ground up.
Build and maintain features across the platform, from sensor data ingestion through to the dashboards growers actually use day to day
Work directly with agronomists and field teams to turn real farming problems into working software
Write clean, tested code and review your teammates' pull requests (and expect the same back)
Help design APIs and data models that need to handle unpredictable, messy real-world inputs like weather feeds and equipment telemetry
Take ownership of features end to end, from a rough idea in a stand-up to something live in production
Contribute to technical decisions on architecture and tooling as the platform scales
Solid commercial experience building web applications, with a strong grasp of at least one modern backend or full-stack framework
Comfort working with APIs, databases and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP or Azure)
An interest in AgriTech, sustainability or data-driven agriculture. Prior sector experience is a bonus, not a requirement
The ability to work independently and make good calls without waiting for permission on every detail
Clear communication skills. You'll be explaining technical trade-offs to non-technical colleagues fairly often
A pragmatic streak. Startups reward people who ship rather than people who polish forever
£33,500 to £51,500, depending on experience
Hybrid working from the Cardiff base, with flexibility on hours
Equity in the business. You're building it, you should own a piece of it
A genuine learning and development budget, plus a remote-friendly culture when you need it
A flat structure where your ideas reach decision-makers without three layers of management in between
AgriTech sits at the intersection of two things that aren't going away: food production and climate pressure. That makes it one of the more resilient corners of tech to build a career in. Cardiff has a growing cluster of agricultural and environmental innovation, backed by strong university links and a lower cost of living than London, so your salary goes further while the sector itself matures around you. Get in early at a startup like this and the progression tends to move fast, because the business needs it to.
